Full Version: Font/audio Hack Switch When Moving Xbox.

I've made some rename commands in evox.ini to be able to switch off font exploit and at the same time switch on the audiodb hack... would this solve the clock problem if I move my xbox since when I unplug it it's not using the font exploit anymore?

I'm hoping it will since I'm planning on moving my xbox soon (going to a friends house about 20 mins from here but just to be sure) and don't want the font hack to fragg. Also, I don't have a MA or 007:AUF disc available anymore so I hope this is going to work (haven't tried my evox.ini yet but everything looks alright). The only thing that worries me is if the audio exploit will work on first start since I've never tried it before. I have a 4920 dash, the no switch ST.DB and I've also put the Audio Signed PBL 1.3.5i on E root and renamed default.xbe to linux.xbe. Gonna ftp it over now and try it.

/me prays to God that it will work.

Wish me luck tongue.gif

Oh, btw... if anyone is interested in this and if it works I'll post everything I did... could be great for those who move their xbox alot and prefer the Font Exploit due to lazyness like me rolleyes.gif

Files used:

On C -
PBL 1.3.5i signed with font in c:\ root.
BigFonts2.5 in c:\fonts\ dir.
X2 4977 BFM Bios in c:\Bioses\ dir.

On E -
PBL 1.3.5i signed with audio (default.xbe renamed to linux.xbe) in e:\ root.
audio_sl_audio-key.zip from the "usual places" and then the ST.DB from that file renamed to ST.hck in e:\TDATA\fffe0000\music\.
And exactly the same bios as on C in the e:\Bioses\ dir.

If you've got any questions feel free to PM me.

It should have prevented a boot loop cause your Fonts were off. There was nothing preventing your XBox from loading MS Dash. Good job! smile.gif
cruisr3k
great idea

the font exploit is easier to do but linux freaks when compiling programs that "were created in the future" and loading the dash, changing the time, and IGRebooting is a major pain in the ass
Grospolina
Good stuff. I know for a fact that it works because I've been doing it for several months too.

And the font exploit is not just for "lazy people like you". It also has the advantage of being able to use customized audio tracks (if you're not using Morden's Audio Package).
JBNinja99
worked awsome! big thanks to aaanti for personally helping me out. switch from font to audio with ease. now i can move my modded box and not have to worry about the clock loop aaaaaand launch the audio hack without carrying around a audio cd. thanks again!
JBNinja99
i do have one question though...i was watching a dvd on my box...and everytime i pressed a button on the remote it would restart back to the dashboard. no matter what i pressed. is this normal?

eh, and when i try to go back to the ms dash with the xtfdash.xbe i get error 21. sad.gif

everything else is great though!
JBNinja99
okay i figured out why the remote wouldn't work. i switched to audio and the remote worked fine with the dvd. strange how it reset everytime i touched it with font though. no complains though. laugh.gif

still don't know why i'm having trouble with the xtfdash.xbe though. wink.gif

How would we activate fonts again so that evo-x loads on reboot from M$Dash??
JBNinja99
when you disable fonts the m$ dash loads. then to get back to evox you do the audio hack. once your in evox again (from the audio hack) just reactivate the fonts and upon reboot evox will load. laugh.gif

Does the same ''rename'' code will work in UnleashX?
JBNinja99
i'm sure it would. give it a shot.
pOiNTBLaNK
This works great..... I even swapped in a 120gig runnin exploit with font/audio switch. My very last question is :

When fonts are turned off and Audio is ON booting to M$DASH, Is it safe to play on XBOX Live??

Thanks in Advance,
pOiNTBLaNK
Sottilde
No exploits work with XBLive 2.0. So you're screwed either way. It'd be safe though - as long as you're not running a hacked bios (PBL counts too) it won't ban you.
Shadyguy
Would this Audio/Font switch work even though I have already hex edited to get to MS dash with the font hack?
