Rahszul,
I've been putting together all the acl's after 23 Mar, 04. And I'm almost done now but I've gotten to something that stopped my progress a bit. I've noticed that 2 games have the same title ID, if you haven't noticed Spiderman 2 and Tenchu: Return From Darkness both have the 41560026.acl. So what do I do now? Anyways I'm almost done I think there's goin to be about 100 acls or more once I'm done. I'll put them all together into a acl pack, would you like to post it? Overfiend.

Does anyone know if the Media folder which appears on most xbox live games is deletable? The folder appears as follows:
\Media\Ariauni.tft
\Media\Dlcustom.xpr
\Media\Sound.xsb
\Media\Wave.xwb
Total Space: 25.040.180 Bytes / 23 Mega Bytes
Sometime is also has:
\Media\Dlres.xpr
Total Space: 25.320.756 Bytes / 24 Mega Bytes
And sometimes is also has:
\Media\Dspimage.bin
Total Space: 25.337.552 Bytes / 24 Mega Bytes
I've tried removing this folder and files and it doesn't appear to affect any of the games in any way but I cannot be sure. This folder and files don't appear to be included in the deletables list on any of the games. Can anybody confirm if these files are xbox live related and if they can safely be deleted?
Thanks,
Luke

The NTSC version of THUG2 has a PAL movie folder. It will save you 300MB and your game will be 3.0GB.
You can also delete some or all NTSC movies like bails or product placement "teasers" if you don't want them.

Still looking for madden 2005 deletables, i notice the game does have a game demo and several video previews for games.
I looked through the folders and its not easily located. if anyone knows, would be apperciated greatly.
my madden disks always seem to get scratched up and become unplayable. Don't want it to happend this year. would be nice to put it on hd, and save some space. sinces its taking up something like 3+gigs.
Thank you for your time.

This might be a dumb question but with the new release it says:
+ all ACL files from dvd2xbox.xbox-scene.com
Now does that mean that all the acls are included in the realease so I don't need the acl pack in there?
And does that include all the ones that are not yet posted on the Rahszul site but have been posted on this site (like fable and Sudeki and a few of others)?
And if they are included why did it not process the whiplash, and Crimson Sea I just recently backed up (yes the option for acl deletions is on)?
Anyways thanx. Overfiend
P.S. Is anyone goin to answer my other post?

If it doesn't appear to affect the game, then go ahead and delete it -- and make note of it (with a TXT file in the game's root directory). If later on the game starts behaving strangely, look up what you did in the TXT file and put the files back in.

definitely... i'd like to see more about PAL games too though. I know Rahszhul's has some, but generally (as with a lot of the recommended deletions on here too) it's directed at NTSC games. Someone asks what they can delete, and straight away people tell them to get rid of pal movies etc...

I don't care if there are ACLs or not at a site. I don't use 'em. But, I will use whatever site has the information I'm looking for. If you do start a new site, I suggest that you update it. I know Raz is a bit busy and doesn't have time to update that often. He may be able to put up more updates if he'd also scrap the ACLs. If people can't delete files without an ACL when they are listed, then they probably need to be in a special school for the "gifted" instead of wasting their time on gaming.
If you want to start a site, I'd also suggest keeping it simple. Spend your time on updates and extra games instead of spending your time making it pretty.
I can imagine it would be a monumental task. You may even consider talking to Raz' about just joining with him. Maybe with two others, Raz' could just keep this updated.
| QUOTE |
| i'd like to see more about PAL games too though |
A new site won't help that. Raz posts what he gets info for. If you want more PAL games on the site, then post 'em.

So I tried using this on DOA Extreme Beach volleyball and now I have a problem. I would LOVE to save space on my HD for more games but the files that it told me to deleet got rid of all the movies in the game, maybe it would be nice for a little warning telling me I am getting rid of all the movies in my game? First off the game is about the girls and the movies so why would who ever created this thing want to tottaly ruin this game for me? Now I am thinking if I use this on my other games will all the movies be deleeted also? I don't want to play a game without the movies and miss plot elements or just a whicked movie, who knows what else I deleeted to. I think this guide is tottaly unfair to new coomers and you people just ruined my DOA volleyball game and I have no way of getting the movies back. Great.
It said that the files I deleet will not affect my gameplay, that is true but there should also be something that warns the movies will be gone also on the games you take the movies out of.

I've found some nifty deletes in Halo that saved me an extra 1.46 gig in addition to the 1.7 gig I saved by deleting the /bink and the /xdemos folders as suggested on the site. I never play the Single player mode anymore, so I backed up my single player .map files on my computer, then deleted the single player maps in the
/E/games/Halo/maps folder. The single player maps were as follows:
a10.map, a30.map, a50.map,b30.map, b40.map, c10.map, c20.map, c40.map, d20.map, d40.map.Also... You can still play the single player maps and campaign whenever you want to. Since I know we don't have any pirates here on X-box scene(that's a no-no),Just pop in your orig. Halo disc and play em. I hope this helps some people out.

Why would you backup your .MAP files when you have them on your original disc? Hmm. Yes, we have no pirates here. It's amazing how many people with NTSC XBoxes have PAL games and vice versa. There must be shiploads of games crossing 1000s of miles of seas when the same, domestic games are just down the street.

Strangely enough I have an PAL xbox, upon which I play PAL games. I also live in the UK, which is a PAL region.
It's just as amazing to find that people in the UK take holidays to the US.... honestly... I hear the US come to the UK too. Often when said UK holiday-takers visit aforementioned USA, they sometimes buy console games (strange but true... it happens for movies too, and clothes), which usually work out cheaper than in sunny ol' England.
I'm sure however that your xbox is in no way modified. Infact the idea of modding it, in itself is blasphemy to you....... right?
t_skraggs
Nov 9 2004, 08:15 PM
I wasn't asking for justification, though the demographic that generally owns an XBox probably can't afford lots of trips overseas, nor buying XBox games once they are there. I just had the thought pop into my head of all the XBox-logoed container ships crossing the Atlantic and Pacific.
(My XBox is modded. It was modded solely for the purpose of playing games on the HDD. I did not mod it, nor have I used it, for any other reason.)

You can also save space by doing the same thing as the first Halo and splitting single-player and multi-player maps. I am in the process of burning an MP only disc for LAN games right now and it's only 510mb
The disc structure for an MP only disc would be:
/default.xbe
/maps/assension.map
/maps/beavercreek.map
/maps/burial_mounds.map
/maps/coagulation.map
/maps/colossus.map
/maps/cyclotron.map
/maps/foundation.map
/maps/headlong.map
/maps/lockout.map
/maps/mainmenu.map
/maps/shared.map
/maps/waterworks.map
/maps/znazibar.map
/maps/fonts/*.*
[EDIT] I figured out what was missing. It seems shared.map is pretty important. Go figure
XboxN00by21
Nov 10 2004, 06:53 AM
I backed them up because I didn't think about using the disc to put the maps back on. Anyway it's so much faster to just drag and drop the .map files then to recopy them.
