I recently instaleld a Chameleon v1.8 (solderless). After it not working on install i took it out, double checked everything then reinstalled once again explicitly following the installation manual. Still didn't work, no LED and just booted to MS dash. I flicked switch 4 on the dipswitch so it booted from bank 1 and it booted to the cromwell bios screen. I then inserted the EvoX bios disc and it installed the bios to bank 0. I then had to change the dipswitch back to default settings (all switches off) and quickly insert the EvoX dash disc or it would go to ms dash. It booted to the EvoX dash and then I could ftp to get it functioning how I wanted.

Is this meant to happen, or do you have to boot from bank 1 to install the bios?

Bank 0 should have had cromwel bios on it from the factory.
Maybe yours was messed up. There should also be a copy of cromwel
on bank 1. Which is your case made it so you could flash the chip.
Once it was flashed ofcourse it will boot to MS dash if you havnt installed
another dash(evolution X..etc) to the HD yet, or you dont have a boot disk
in the dvdrom. Sounds like your chip is working fine to me.

Yeah, it works fine, just had to work out how to get it running
Don't think I will bother chasing up the distributor about it, as I know I can get it working and it is working fine. But thanks anyway.
