Well...I installed a mod chip on my XBox 8 months ago and I had no problems...I ended up buying my younger brother a mod chip for x-mas....and I would like to install it for him on the 25th.

Anyways....when I am at my parents house and installing the chip...I will have no way to FTP data from his box to a computer. I do however, have a backup of my Xbox hard drive. If worse came to worse could I use my old Xbox HD backup if needed???

Second....On my first install I seem to remember using 3 cds to complete the install...CD 1 was the BIOS Flash, CD 2 was a boot CD to be able to FTP...I think....and then CD 3 was a Slayer Autoinstall.

Anyway...now it seems that I can skip CD 2 because I can go right to the Slayer install???

So basically my steps would be the following:

1. Correctly install chip
2. Flash the BIOS
3. Insert Slayer Autoinstall and follow correct options.

Do I have this correct? Thanks for the help guys.

Sounds like you have good handle on it.
Yes, if you need to you can always put your old hdd in his xbox, just make sure it is unlocked. You may want to, if you doesn't have it on there already, put ConfigMagic on it, so that once you put it in your brother's xbox you can lock it.

I would just note that if you've done an install before, really the disc you should be omitting is the SlaYer auto install disc.

Here's what I'd do if I were you:
Use the files from a game back up
replace the default.xbe of the game with an evox default.xbe file
include evox.ini
-edit the evox.ini file to look for apps on the d: drive in the apps folder
skin (folder)
apps (folder)
-in the apps folder include a copy of xcommander
bios.bin
create iso
burn

This dvd could then be used for flashing the bios and installing evox as it has all the necessary files. Just use xcommander to xfer the default.xbe, evox.ini and skin folder to the hdd.
