i accidentally changed the video mode in xbmp to ntsc-j and now my xbox won't boot past the bios, it just hangs at the big X for a while then a short reboot and back to the X and keeps doing this, there is both sound and video during this. I'm not sure if the ENIGMAH VIDEO SELECTOR will help since i can't even boot past the bios, but i'll try it anyway. In the mean time, do you have any advice or guesses on what's going on?

hmm... base on what i know, when you change your video mode to an unsupport one, your TV won't even give any signals to it which means no bios video or sound at all...

what i'm thinking is, you must have set xbmp as your dashboard right? so when the xbmp booted, it take over the video mode control and use the unsupported one...

but since you automatically reset, this sounds like a clock loop hehe instead of a video mode problems, if you have a video problem, it will not reset your xbox smile.gif, could you accidently deleted/modify any other file like xboxdash.xbe or so? anyways, what are you using? a modchips or font expliot?

i'm using an aladdin mod chip with evox as my dashboard, so not sure y it just resets. I don't think I changed anything other than video mode. What's this clockloop you speak of?

i turned off the xbox while it was applying the video mode setting, i guess that could explain the reset loop. Is the eeprom damaged? Any way of fixing it?

I read a post somewhere about a guy which has this video problem and he has a matrix modchips, he said that after he reflash his bios, it fixes the video problems...
