I have created a bios folder with evox installed. I have the commands for the chameleon installed and the chameleon is set in Mode 1. I click on Flash Bank 0 or any bank and it reports !!Unknown Flash Type!!. Is the chip not set right or is it my settings in evox.

I think your ok cause evox only reads the bios types that were written in that release ver.
Just flash whatever bios you lke it will only be able to tell if its like the m7 or something
or the d6

It doesn't let me do that. It pops up with the error. Then I have to press b to return. It doesn't allow me to flash.

I figured out the problem. I didnt have the flash= that I needed for the chameleon. I copied one but it was for a Matrix chip. I got it to work. Thanks for the help.

excetara2,
Where did you specify "flash="? was it in XP.ini? if so what is the command? was it "flash=EvoxM7_ef.bin"
Morglum

Morglum,

thanks for the info. However I am trying to flash the chameleon with the Matrix Programmer. the xp.exe (v 0.13 of the software) is what is reporting "unknown flash". Are there any mods to the xp.ini file needed?

i'm having the same problem with xp.exe with a matrix. it was suggested that i try new battery, different computer, different copies of the bios in case of corruption, pressing the chip to the programmer, changing settings in the bios for the parallel port type - all to no effect. Frustrating, indeed.

i have programmerd many of matrix chips

dont use xp with a matrix chip .

use winlpc

u can easly tell if your hardware is capable of flashing the matrix chip if upon launch of the program u have to hit a ok button if u goes straight into the program your computer will not be able to format the matrix chip with the programmer

as far as flashing chamelion with matrix programmer and xp.zip

i test on 2 computers dell p3 733 not working and a gateway p3 533 not working ?

with the dell i can not flash a matrix or chamealion chip

with the gateway i was not able to flash the matrix of the chamelion chip with xp.exe or winlpc

so use winlpc to flash your matrix chips and if u dont get that agree screen when u launch the program move onto another compuer it will not work

good luck
