Hi,
I have installed a new hdd in my xbox and would like to place the orginal in my mates un modded xbox as a stand in untill his chip arrives so he can use Evox, is this possible? I have asked this wuestion and was told all I needed to do was unlock the hdd ... which I did using the evox on it.... howeve all I get in my mates xbox is FRAG......any guides

how did you unlock your drive with evox? never heard that one before ... only way I know how to unlock a retail xbox hd is this way....Tutorial here!!!!

the newer versions of Evox allow u to lock/unlock ur HDD straight from the dash.

I have these lines in my evox.ini
Section "Lock/Unlock HDD"
{
Item "Lock Harddisk",@210
Item "Unlock Harddisk",@211
}

Is this not correct? Is there a step I'm missing to allow the hdd to work on a non chipped xbox?

if his xbox is unmodded then it will only work with the HDD he had when he bought his xbox. because of the eeprom, the HDD matches only a specific motherboard.

Ah well thats the problem then....... thanks for the quick replys .... so if I use that program to unlock his hdd (the one out of his xbox) and then install evox I should be ok?

if his xbox is unmodded then he can't use any other HDD than the one he bought his xbox with. the only way to get that HDD to work would be to put you eeprom on his xbox, but i think that's too much trouble to go through. it would be better just to wait for the chip
