i got a 200 gig hdd, and 2 250 gig hdd, i copied my 200 using
ghost 2k3, a full bakup onto a 250, no apparent probs there

this is were the problems are

i formatted my 200 after cloning, now i want to copy partition c
from the bakup 250 onto the 180 gigs of the 200 gig hdd

i then want to copy partition d onto the other 250 gig, and still
have my dual boot work

c contains xp pro
d contains xp mce
e games
f movies

after that is done, ill jest take care of e and f seperate

but i have not been able to get that far

after copying c and then d, with ghost
somehow, my d programs are in the c drive, it looks the same
as it did, my icons are in same place, but the programs are diff

and when booting d, its bad, i cant say

so i reformatted both drives

i am trying bootit, a free proggy

i cloned my c drive, then turned off, and cloned my d drive

i loaded, c is missing a histry file in ie explorer, so i assumed
other things might be missing
i checked the d drive, and it didnt bring my user name
its stuck at the logon screen now

i have tried this procces lik 6 or 7 times, and nothing works

sometimes ie explorer histry is there, sometimes it aint

but all the time, the 2nd drive wont boot the logon

What does the original partiton structure look like on the full backup drive.
It sounds like a few things need to be addressed here.
When you move the boot area for nt, saying from partion d to the new disk d you need to appoitly ajust the boot.ini, this example will differ from your system.

MS's lettering system can also be a issue, only make the partions you need first ie <c and d>. You can get the data after the system is up. Windows may reletter your drive scheme, if there were any apps on the wrongly lettered partitions then you will eather need to ajust the registry for every instance of the change or try to change the drive letter <I have had this fail sometimes with MS applictions that try to autorepair.>
