Do I need a mod chip to do this http://www.xbox-modchips.com/tutorials/swap-dvd.htm

My xbox dvd drive died and I have an extra pc one laying around. If I do need a mod chip and I add one can I run actual xbox games not copies from the pc dvd drive ?

Read the list at the top of that link.It says modded xbox so I would guess you do need a chip.

DUH! I just glazed over that oops. If I do mod it can I run original xbox games from the pc dvd rom all I saw was how to run stuff on cd-r disks. (unless I missed that too )
