I follow these exactly...

What the hell is wrong. I tried about 3 new EEPROMs.
Do you have a backup of you old eeprom on your hdd? If you do it might explain this. Other than that I can't tell you what to do. I mnot all that familiar with configure magic. I use my chip os to do all my mucking.

have xenium, but loading retail bios.
Did a restore setting from backup and hey presto worked. Think I had tinkered with regions settings for DVD.
Ah, gotta love those crazy backups, this is an example of just how sensitive eeproms are.

The first thing I would suggest is reflash your eeprom from your backup. if you dont have one then just about the only fix is to get a new eeprom.
I got a new eeprom from Xodiiak and it gave the same error. Got another eeprom from a friend who never use Live and it worked.

hhhmm odd xodiiak or zodiiak? Zodiiak is one of the most trusted eeprom sellers on the scene. I'm sure if you told him that it didnt work he would have gladly given you another. good that you got back on live. Make sure that you save a backup right now. this will save you many headaches later on if your like me and you f with shit.
Meant Zodiiak. Hopefully the problem will be resolved and i'm still waiting for his reply. He told me something about how to edit the eeprom which i never do so that was not the solution. Did anyone figure out what causes the error?

Where did you get the eeprom? I feel the reason we receive the error is because the eeprom is married to another hard drive. It has nothing to do with editing because I never edited mines and i got that error. Or it could be something with config magic but I tried other flashing apps and i got the same error. Seem as if no one can figure it out.
from my understanding and this may not be correct anymore, but editing the eeprom almost always messes it up. one thing a lot of eeprom resellers do is take one eeprom and try to edit it, sometimes i guess it works but from what we see most of the time it doesnt.
I don't know WTF I gave that Zodiiak guy $10.00 bucks and his eeprom does not work. He is not responding to emails but he posts on his thread. I am soo pissed.

There is nothign you can do but get another eeprom. None of those things work ...using another HDD locker will not solve the problem but go ahead and try. Email the seller and have him send you another eeprom.
Well here are my codes...i was using a softmod and was using unleashX as my dash. I was coldbooting to get on live and i wasnt cheating or anything i was just lazy to restore the ms dash when i wasnted to go back on live. It was working fine for over 2 weeks. I tried to sign on today and i get the good old "you may have modified hardware or software" message.

I've not been able to connect to Live for a few days now and the Troubleshooter keeps saying it can't find it.

Deadline, you are banned and you need to get a new hdd and eeprom to be able to go back on Live.
Hitcher, I had the C2 problem which I think is like the 8A problem. You probably need to get a new eeprom or try the fixes like Enigmah Videomode switcher or alternate hdd locker (from configmagic)

Maybe just my guess... but could xbox be banning all non USA xbox in the USA? Like with my eeprom, it came from overseas, I think france, but I just got a new hdd, flash the eeprom, lock the hdd and it worked for a good 5 months. Perhaps after this xmas, MS is gettiong paranoid with all the 360's floating around, and put up a new wall of security to watch for the import japanese 360's, seeing that they are going for $150, and are well in stock in japan.
As far as I'm concerned, the japanese 360 do play some american games, are alot cheaper for the bundle, and are easy to import, maybe MS doesn't like that, so they are attempting to ban all xboxes in the USA that aren't american made eeproms. Hmm... well i hope that this problem gets solved for you asap. I understand that I'm not obligated to play on live seeing that I modded my box, but it just pisses me off that it worked for over 5 months up to this point. Well, drop me a line when yours gets online. I have the same XYZ codes as you, and I hope my problem will get fixed as well.

Avrame, how did you get your's to work? Did it just work all of a sudden? I also talk to a supervisor at xbox.com and he said that if you have 190D in the Z number, then that means that your xbox is banned. I am just wondering if M$ has done anything to fix the banning of legal boxes. The supervisor also said that there was recently a big autoupdate in Forza and Battlefront that is causing alot of people to get the software modification error. But, I can't seem to get an answer on what M$ is going to do about it. He said that they were telling people to ship their boxes to them, but he said so many people are having this problem that it would be next christmas before you would get your box back. I just want to get on XBL so bad since I am on break, but I can't decide if I should buy a new XBOX or not.
Hmm... in my opinion, for you at least... for the mean time, you COULD always buy one at wal mart or best buy. They'll accept console returns within 30 days, so you can get your fix on the legit console for the time begin, then return it before you leave on break.
As for me, I dunno. My xbox went from the "modded error" to the "connection error", then back the the "modded error" in the course of 2 days. I was tempted to call up MS, but seeing that I had opened my xbox, I have nothing to say in my defense.

D'oh after all my concerns it appears that my default gateway settings on the xbox had changed, the xbox was unplugged for a wekk and when i next used it it prompted for time/date etc. but never double checked the network settings as i thought dhcp would have been fine.
Oh well chalk that one up,

Have softmodded my Xbox with Unleash X. When I go to the network settings in the MS Dashboard. It stops at IP Address. At the bottom it say Xbox Live Not Found. I've been on live before and got banned from Halo 2 Matchmaking. Here are the codes I get:

just got some insider info, i think they are going to start banning. I heard about this yesterday. But i dont have all the details yet, what drive and firmware do you have?
