okay, I have bought the game, decided I want to put it on the hard drive. I ripped it to the hdd using dvd2xbox 051 (and another programe xbcopy, which also didn't work). DVD2xbox patched it and renamed a particular folder ending in parmenu to part or something (i saw this as a fix on another forum, but dvd2xbox did it for me anyway).

I have igr off totally (checked the evo.ini file), and i also tried deleting the three files that were specified on another forum. I have double checked that the files have been patched by opening them up in a hex editor.

Its really winding me up now, as its not from a cracked copy, its from the original disk.

I have searched high and lo for patches etc, but I couldnt find any.

I am running evo x 3935, with xecutor 2 chip, but I don't know what bios as it says unknown.
