the xecuter2 4973 according to the specs page does NOT have any other hacks to it (like the color hack, error hack etc.) correct? So without the color hack theres no easy way to make sure correct install, with out the error hack it just gives generic error messages, correct. Also does the evox3 boot process eliminate the need for f-boot2 and e-boot2? Thanks in advance!

first of all, check xbins
secondly, yes you can tell because the MS logo is replaced by the xecuter2 logo

thanks for the reply. Ended up going with the straight 4973 bios sice it showed the x-ecuter logo. Works like a charm so far....

Is the 4973 a 512k release, and not available in 256, as Xecuter "promised" ?

I downloaded the 256k v1.0 version.

What about the 1meg version for the TSOP ?
I heard that the 1meg version they do release is not a 4x copied 256k version but a specific version...

copy /b 256K.bin + 256K.bin + 256.bin + 256K.bin 1024.bin
Replace the 256K.bin with the 256K bios filename.

on #xbins you can find a 1mb version for the tsop, dont know if its specific or the usual 256kx4, but you can find it there

For madmatt and NitroFlyer, xbins is awfully not friendly at all, and the server does not have the 1M version.
I heard from Executer team that the 1M bios was a specific one, but maybe someone attempted to just use the 256k one for having a 1meg one.
Usefull feedback would be appreciated.

The standard tsop bios is 4 copies of a 256k bin. therefore 4 versions of the x-ecuter 256k will be fine.

Put it this way, the 1mb bios when compressed as a zip file is 256 k.

Use the batch file if you're uncertain.
and to double-check it, use BIOS Checker!
