Before FTPing ROM files to the Xbox, do they need to be unziped or will an emulator recognise a zipped file?

You just leave them zipped

It depends on the emulator. Most will recognize zipped files, but some you will have to unzip. Just look at the readme notes that came with your emulater and it should say in there. If not, try both ways.

I've had major trouble with MAME roms after unzipping them. Other roms I haven't had a problem. But it is just as easy to leave them all zipped.

while on the subject of leaving files zipped for FTP
I have unzipped my ConfigMagic for FTP to unban myself from Xbox Live
But Evox doesnt Detect/Run it, people have told me it should do this automatically
Should i put it into my E/apps/ folder zipped? or not?
Or all the in a root folder such as /E/Apps/ConfigMagic
Or..
all seperate like
E/apps/Data
E/apps/Media

You need to edit the evox.ini and tell it to "auto-add items" for E:\Apps\. Sorry, I'm at work and can't give you the proper syntax. But open evox.ini in a text editor and you'll see how it's used, for example, to auto-list your games.

ok
I can just copy the AutoAddItem part and paste it a second time under it?
then change someof it to the root folder of configmagic? or something like that?
Not had a proper look yet, so i dont really know what im talking about
