hi all. ok, after a great install of the 2.3b lite i finally flashed the bios. after flashing the bios, the xbox powers down, so i know i did this right. now i making the evox boot disc and i can't figure out whats happening. i've all types of dvdrw and
cdrw. perhaps i'm not creating the boot disc correctly. i'm following so many tuts that maybe i'm confused. i'm using the tut below:

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act...ST&f=16&t=89545

maybe i'm using craxtion the wrong way. i'm so close to get this thing working, i'm probably being impatient. so i don't
wanna be a pain, but i could use some advice. thanx

Hi there,

Error 13 - is a dashboard error.

If you are following the tut, then there's not much to say...

If you have a DVD burner, then burn onto DVD-R or DVD-RW.

Create the ISO with Craxtion.

Rename the evoxdash.XBE to default.XBE

Hope that helps... wink.gif

when i use craxtion i keep getting this box that says:

default.xbe not found in specified path. please select another path.

now i changed the evoxdash.xbe to default.xbe. so what does the above mean? i have the default.xbe, evox.ini, 50mb dummy file in a folder. when i click the add button in craxtion and chose the folder where i have the three files in, i get the
above message popping up.

Hi again

The default.xbe and evox.ini file need to be in the root of the DVD.

In Craxtion, select the folder that contains the the default.xbe file and evox.ini.

The default.xbe and evox.ini file need to be in the root of the DVD.

do you mean they have to be in the same folder? if not, explain the ROOT of the dvd.

Ok,

"the root of the DVD" - what i mean is once you make the ISO file and it is burnt to the media the XBE and the INI should not be in any folders.

Use Craxtion to view the ISO file after you are done (choose menu "File---ISO Extraction mode" and then "Tools---ISO Explore"). Craxtion will then show you the contents of the ISO. Just make sure the two Evox files are not in any folders. If they are in folders you will have to create the ISO again.

After checking the location of the evox files, you can burn the ISO.

Remember..In Craxtion when creating the ISO, select the folder that contains the the default.xbe file and evox.ini.

Hope that helps... biggrin.gif

thanx buddy. i kinda figured that out already. what sucks about the whole thing is i followed a tut that says to flash
the modchip a full 1024k. some other members here said
i shouldve flashed the 512k, this way i wouldve had the
cromwell on the other bank. as of now, i'm f**ked until i
get a programmer or another chip. these are the things you
learn as a noob. so i say, oh well. i'll know next time. grr.gif
