Hey I sprayed my xbox chrome.... It was car paint and could be used on acrylic's.... The guy at the store gave the the prime paint as well for the job.... I gave the xbox a first coat with the prime color and then I gave it the first coat of chrome.... I left it for 36 hours in a nice 25 degree room and then I went to spray it again.... I gave it its last coat and it looked superb! I left it for another 36 hours in the room and then went in and took off the protecting covering for the bits of the case I didn't want sprayed.... They came off fine and it was a master piece! I put my Xbox back together and picked it up..... mad.gif well when I did that it left a greyish kind of finger print in the paint.... I put my finger on it and it did nothing but whenever I slide my finger across lightly it puts a grey streak across my case..... What is wrong!? Now I need to sand it back down and spray again!! What am I meant to do to paint it chrome without it streaking with that grey color.... Do I only give my xbox one coat and then let it dry for like 48 hours??
redbird
try letting it dry for like 3-7 days, lets the paint dry longer

OK well I am sanding it back tonight and spraying it tomorrow morning.... I will be checking it in like 5 days lol..... In those 5 days I will be playing a naked xbox lol.... Cheers redbird

Might want to spray a clear coat over it....

Don't use a clear-coat spray! Spray-on clearcoat will make your entire glossy chrome finish turn dull gray.

Use a wipe-on or brush-on polyurethane. Spray-on polyurethane may or may not work. If you want to be the guinea pig for us, you can get it at Home Depot in the wood flooring section.

Do a search for "chrome" on this forum and you'll get more tips.
ghostavel
why sand it just give it another coat and let dry for a few days
Wild_Fire
It will only turn a dull gray if you use a incapatible clear coat.
