Once your are banned is there any way around it?

You can purchase a new EEPROM. When you do this, you do not purchase the EEPROM chip itself, but the key on it. There is some risk to purchasing an EEPROM, because you do not have any defined guarantee that the seller will not sell it to other people or will not use it himself. You're best of purchasing from people you trust and from people with good references.

Once you have the EEPROM data, you can use ConfigMagic to write it to the EEPROM in your motherboard. This will effectively remove the ban on your Xbox, and you can then connect to Live with the same account. This time, make sure your mod is OFF!!! Many people recommend customizing your BIOS so you know if it's the retail or hacked BIOS - colormods, fastani, no ani...whatever.

very simple solution to unban ur xbox,

first if u just got banned, call or talk to MS(www.xbox.com) & tell them theres somthing wrong with ur set, not working on xbox live

& then they will ask u for ur particulars & will send u a CD to unban youself, Voila !!

The solution is so simple , but pp make it so complicated

Doesn't sound too far fetched. Ever tried phoning MS for reactivating your Office/WinXP product key? They give you the info no questions completely anonymously!

Is it true or not? I think I just got banned.

I was using the software control features of the chameleon and selected "Boot from TSOP (Disable Chameleon)" It seemed to work and I even got on live and played last night. I selected the same option today and right when it got to the live dashboard it told me there was a problem. When I selected to troubleshoot it told me I was modified. This sucks.... they just charged me the 50 bucks (going through my account tomorrow.)

hey brianforever hav u actually done this?? i mean the reps. that answer the questions atleast i think know no more than i do but im sure they would know why ur banned by checking their computers or w/e an would be suspicious...after all wen u call they ask for ur name an sometimes serial numbers an if they send u a disc they know where u LIVE!!! they could sue ur ass for a bunch of money too...
xboxdawg
I turned my Xbox on with the mod enabled and it didn't have a disk in it. For some reason it went to the xbox live section and logged in. I immediated hit b to go back and shut off the xbox. That was last night. Now today I am getting the message that it could not connect. There was an IP address problem, then it got through that using auto detect. The very last step it came up with the message about not being able to communicate because the software or hardware may have been modified.

It refers you to www.xbox.com/connect . You can call, do interactive chat or send an email. I may try to do the chat or email later. The comment about calling them and getting a disk to fix it and they'll know where you live is BS. If you signed up for LIVE they already know that info cause you had to put your credit card info and address in there.

Has anyone else been banned and successfully got unbanned??? I just paid my renewal Dec. 24th, so this really sucks! You can bet my ethernet cable will stay unhooked until I get ready to play on LIVE if I get unbanned!

You can "unban" yourself buy purchasing a new EEPROM from the buy and sell section of Xbox-Scene. Find a tutorial for how to install it.

Your old Live account should still work.

ALSO - upgrade to the newest Anti-Live BIOS. It will prevent you from accidentally going on Live.

First off, Why would they waste their Time Banning people from Xbox Live if all you have to do i call them and Say hey im sorry so they can waste more of their time sending a Bogus as "Unbann CD" PLEASE PEOPLE! Where do you come up with this stuff.

Cuz you didnt configure it NOT to AUTOMATICALLY log in. You can do this thru the refular M$ Dashboard settings.

I was once banned and have now successfully unbanned myself from using my friends eeprom who doesn't have live.

I dunno about the idea of calling M$ to tell them something is wrong with your Xbox...

You must not use live, unless you change your EEPROM the you are unable to create any sort of new acct

Because it doesn't ban your account. It bans your Xbox. Your account will still work if you try it somewhere else.

Hi
sad.gif I have just been banned and i did phone MS but they did not lift the ban and they also said anyone using a action replay would also get banned so be warned also i can not get my xbox linked up with my pc iam using internet sharing but dont know how to set it up
krnxlazie
i recently got banned and trying to find an another EEPROM i can use. but i also found out that i made a back up copy of my whole hard drive before getting banned. i was wondering if anyone would know if i can use my old EEPROM and replace my BANNED EEPROM?
TribeX
just a question. Anyone know what MS says if you ask them for a refund then since they banned you from their service that you are paying to use. I would think you would at least be able to get your money back and if not you could probably take legal action. Unless there is something about it in the TOS. I don't have Live so I don't know how all of that works.

No - the backup EEPROM is the same as the banned one. MS will view it as a banned EEPROM no matter what.

my chip (Xecuter 2.2) doesnt even let me on live if i did try it. as soon as it goes into 'chip' mode, my numbers (IP, MAC address) reset automatically. i will NEVER get banned!

I think you quoted the wrong person....this guy was answering the other guys question about it automatically logging into xbox live from the dashboard.....you can go into yout settings on the M$dash and set that to no.

I have just ordered a SmartXX chip.

Im a bit worried that when i install it and connect it to my Home Network that it will go onto live automatically and get me banned!

I thinking that if that was the case it would be awkard to connect it to my PC for FTP because my network hub is automatically connected to my router and the internet!

If i go into the settings and stop the automatic login now will it definetly not go onto live when there is no game in the drive?

Also, what is this about Anti-Live BIOS?

Thanks in advance

Just wondering, can you get banned with an upgraded hard drive?

Just wondering, can you get banned with an upgraded hard drive?

Technically yes - but that's only if you get sloppy and leave your modchip on while logging on.

If your upgraded hard drive is "locked" to your motherboard, you should have no problems going on Xbox Live with the modchip off. To quote shanafan's post about it:
QUOTE (shanafan @ May 7 2004, 12:45 PM)
Xbox Live is not banning large HD users who use Live with the modchip off.

I recently ordered a Xenium chip, and I'm looking forward to hooking it up. I've been reading up on the procedures for staying unbanned, and I'm pretty confident I can evade M$.

But one question, what exactly is this "Anti-Live OS" that was mentioned? I'm curious to hear about it...

That, and is locking your drive pretty easy? I'm not askin how to (I'll read the tut for that), I was just curious how difficult it was.

Thanks.

I have an Evox chip and I can't disable it, via the dip switches or even by (gently ... LOL) pulling out the ribbon from the back of the machine.

How can I disable the chip so I can get onto Xbox Live? mad.gif
jk009
Well,
I got banned this morning (Damn You MSFT)
I propose some new ideas...
!)If you have a router PULL OUT THE WAN
This will not allow you to go online but still access your xbox and pc ftp...
2) Disable the mo chip (Obvisioly)
3) Is it possible to make a EEPROM keygen
Where it would auto generate a key
You could then test it and see if it works if not do another regeneration
4)If all goes bad go to Ebay and buy a NEW/ND/Used one for cheap...
-------------------
Is #3 possible like there are Windows/Office/Server 03 and other program key generators
Though it would take alot of collection it should be possible...
elmntskater1588
Dont know if this would work but im pretty sure, You wanna play backed up games/use your chip, unplugg the netwrk cable from the back of the box play. you wanna go on live? turn off the chip, plug netwrk cable back in and play? would this wrk>?
milnet
would you get banned if you turned your chip off unplugged your hard drive and start your xbox with game in?

If the chip was off and the hard drive was not plugged in the Xbox wouldn't work at all, you wouldn't get banned because you wouldn't be able to log in.
cromat44
i just use the handy *off* switch that almost all modchips have.... then it boots the retail bios, locks the hardrive and i have no problems.
Smasher9a
just wodneirng with the xenium ice chip if you choose to load MS dash from within evox dash would u get banned?
..[[ModBoxMaster]]..
Xecuter 2.3 Pro and Lite has the luxury of turning off your chips biggrin.gif

NEW ideas? blink.gif
jcautela
All the newer chips especially xecutor have an on off switch, hook it up and always remember to turn it off before you go live!
brahm2
cromat44 - Or, if it's not a physical switch like an Xecuter 2.3b, an OS based solution like the Xenium, where you can boot to MSDash, or pressing the eject button with a SmartXX.

Smasher9a - Yes, you'll get banned if you do it that way. You have to boot up to the OS menu to select the original BIOS - you can't go on Xbox Live if you go to MSDash through EvoX first.

jcautela - like I just said, it may not be in the form of a switch. But ALL never chips have an EASY solution to prevent Xbox Live bannings. And with the Anti-Live BIOSes, not getting banned is easier than ever smile.gif

And to those suggesting keygens for eeproms, it's not a good idea in the first place, and something that would quickly become bannable here at Xbox-Scene.

I wanted to know if at this time it is still safe to go on Xbox Live with an upgraded hard drive. I do realize in order to boot the retail kernel I need to lock it (which I can/have through Xenium OS).

The reason for my concern i that I've heard people say that having larger hard drive will get you banned even if its locked. I realize there is tutorials and such but I wanted to hear the answer from a much more current source.

Thank you for your time cool.gif

What does the error window say when you're banned from Live. I just wanna make sure cuz it says that my settings MAY be off, but I'm also thinking that I've been banned.
