Could someone be kind enough to tell me how to backup mt Halo to the xbox hard drive?
I have tried boxplorer, dvd2xbox, xcopy, xcommander, and xtoolbox and all I can get is the video files, not the actual game.
Thanks in advance.
Oh and I am using EvoX as my dash.

I forgot to add that I tried to back up MechAssult also and had the same thing happen.

What bios do you have? I have an xbit with M7, and used dvd2xbox and have had no problems with Halo. If you have a backlevel bios then upgrade it... there might be a patch (though Halo is old enough at this point that I think even a couple of bios rev's back would be fine).

it's probably his DVD drive. try turning on the xbox then putting in the game, and see if DVD2xbox will copy it.

The M7 is in the EvoX bios folder, but I believe my xbox bios is the original (I soft modded to get evox on my box). How do I update my Xbox bios if that is what needs to be done. Thanks

That is how I have been doing it. It seems to only see one folder and no other files in the root of the disc. And that folder is the v..something folder.

evox can only reflash your chip, not a softmod.

Well is there any other way of doing this then? Is there a program for the PC that will let me extract the Xbox dvd info ( I am not asking for the program, I just want to know if it it out there)
Thanks for all the information.

No, there is no way of extracting the files using a pc drive. Make sure you are using the latest version of dvd2xbox. I know there was a problem a while back with version 5.0 only seeing an 11mb video_ts in the d: drive. But this has been addressed since ver5.1

I backed up my original halo with PXhddloader. it worked for me. always does..
as long as you have one of the newer bios, they auto patch the xbes for you.

Thanks for all the replies. I have not had a chance to try them yet because I go caught in a clock loop and now I am going to update from the font hack to the audio hack.
I was wondering if it could do with the fact that I soft-modded the xbox.

Ok, I just installed Mordens Audio Exploit and everything is fine now. Halo is already on the box. Thanks for all the suggestions.
