OKay, I tried to bridge the solder points so I can stick EvoX2.6 on the TSOP. Unfortunately, I've been a muppet.

Consider the diagram (this is on the top of the Mobo near where the X-ecuter would go - if I had one).

Basically, I've melted (and buggered up) around points A and B (which I need to bridge). I therefore can't get a contact, and can't solder them. The Xbox still works perfect, but I obviously can't flash the TSOP.

Are there any alternative solder points for this?

I was thinking of using C instead of B and D (or preferably E) instead of A. (i.e. bridging C and E or D) Would this work ??

Any other ones?

(BTW I have an Xbox 1.0, Enigmah FINAL, EvoX 1.8.2594 and am trying to stick EvoX BIOS v2.6 on the TSOP)

Cheers

I took a risk, went for it and it worked - so no worries

wich points did you connect....Because i been an muppet to!! =)

E and C

(although D and C would have worked too - but is harder)

When you do the other side it helps if you just tin a bit of wire, then sodler than on rather than trying to get a blob of solder across.

At least I know for next time biggrin.gif

Hmm...donīt work for me....i get Unknown flash type..blabla...something when trying to flash...This must mean that one of the two connections (or both) donīt have contact..right?

Ummm, I fail to see how it can't work as they are just the same wire at different places. If U look at this tutorial you'll see two pics of the Flash screen.

The first you should get if the four connectors are not bridged, the second if they are. That's what happened with me ?!?!??

Sorry I can't be of more help, but, although my Enigmah was installed a while ago, I've only ventured into EvoX yesterday ....

If U give the exact details it may be handy for other forum members ...

Iīm not using the enigmah chip, but matrix method....But should this be a problem...i mean, i only want to connect these 4 points......Confused i am!

OKay, I could be talking complete bollocks but ...

I'm pretty sure that electronically B = C and A = D = E

is everything else on your XBox hacked OK?

Sorry I can't be of more help
Lobotomy
Whiffin your right.

b & c = same

a, d, e = same

well not "same", but they work biggrin.gif

but... A to B is easier than wiring it across the mobo to C, atleast i think so biggrin.gif

or was it E?, no, D to A, across B, leaving A ungrounded and C no boot switch..

ehh unsure.gif , now you made me confused too rolleyes.gif

Sinse we are on the subject of alternatives..

Is there one for the damn ground wire (t1) ?

Maybe one that is like a little better at taking solder smile.gif

I have done about 8 now and man I must say that one point ..
some just don't have anything to connect.. some are open most are closed..
some are prominent and some seem to be sunken into the board .. making connection difficult..
of course I am no professional solder'r but 8 so far with no probs.

can you ground it out from anywhere?
Is it even needed ? the light turns red anyway whether you ground it or not. If you leave it on too long (for me anyway) it seems to hang at MS logo. heh haven't tried without it (too affraid of screwing TSOP)

huh.gif From experience, I thought that any large solder pad and the entire case was ground... Which it is! So why worry about where you stick your ground wire? Solder it to the metal case if you like, it doesn't matter. biggrin.gif
