This sounds crazy, but when my XBox has been unplugged, stored, etc. for a while, the first time I try to boot it up, it flashes Green/Red and then just sits there. I can flip the switch I have installed to disable my X-Ecuter, and boot from the onboard TSOP BIOS without a problem. If I let it sit there for about 10 seconds, turn it off, flip the switch back on, and then apply power it boots fine. From that point on, it will work indefinately. But the next time it sits for a long period of time, e.g. 12 hours in the closet, I have to "warm it up" again!
I don't necessarily have to boot off the standard Xbox BIOS to get it to work, I can just repeatedly try booting the X-Ecuter and usually, between the 3-5th try it works. (Again, after that it works the rest of the day!)
It does not get extremely cold in my house. I would be suprised if it dropped below 50 degrees, even at the coldest times, in the coldest parts of the house.
I have (2) V1 XBox consoles, with the X-Ecuter mod. They both behave this way! I bought the X-Ecuters from (2) different places! I have performed the famous "piratesrus" installation of this chip, using 30 gauge kynar insulated wire. I used flux, have no "cold" solder joints, and have even tried doing a complete re-wire. Performing a continuity test with my multimeter is flawless!
This is NOT a wire/solder/ground issue.
I don't see how it could be a mod-chip BIOS problem either, as the X-Ecuter works after it warms up. I don't believe the BIOS on this chip cares about the weather! Let's face it guys, the BIOS is either programmed correctly, or it is not. Their is no gray area when it comes to the "1's" and "0's".
So whats the deal? The chip on the X-Ecuter is generic and doesn't work correctly when cold?
I have read a few posts pertaining to the infamous Green/Red flashing number the X-Ecuter seems to be famous for. They all pointed to soldering/connection issues. This is not relevant in my case...

Anyone seeing the same thing with their X-Ecuter?
<Please do not reply with "Try re-soldering the connections", "Your mod-chip is bad", "You need to use different wire", etc. I just want to know if anyone else has had this happen, and if they did something unique, or different, to fix it!>
