When I try to flash with the cd drive, I put the mod chip on bank 1 and on, turn on the xbox, and it opens with the cromwell flash bios and the dvd drive opens. So I insert the Memorex cd-rw, it says "Waiting for drive - mode flashing" for about one minute and then reopens the dvd drive and reshows the cromwell opening screen.
Wtf does all this mean?

I think you have to flash on bank 2

I have tried it on both banks. Either way the dvd drive reopens asking for a flash disc.

Please help....I'm am very bummed at the moment.

do you have the bios in 1024k and with a 100+MB dummy file?

maybe try a different media.

the bios on the cd is 512kb and I included a 100 mb dummy file, I would try a different media type however I don't have a dvd rw drive. I guess i might just use my friends.
btw does the bios have to be in 512kb or 1024kb, or can I choose?

i used 1024 bios on verbatim cd-rw for my 1.0 with thompson

I have tried multiple types of media and no matter what they all get spat back out. the only thing I haven't tried is dvd's.
