Xbox 1.2 (5101 MS Bios)
Samsung DVD
OEM Seagate HDD

New Stuff:
Xecuter 2.2 Lite
Older unknown but previously successfully used Bios Load CD
IBM 120GB HDD.

When following 2.2 visual instructions for pin header install, all solder points perfect. d0 point as shown did not work (bottom of board) so I used the top location. Xecuter booted and flashed BIOS. Once flashed, replaced HDD and have not booted past error screen since. Depending on switch config (Enable / disable, Protect / unprotect, bank 1/2) I get one of the following error codes: 05, 16, 21. Most common is 16 (05 was w/ change on HDD jumpers actually). Have tried a couple different EvoX boot config CDs on CDRW media. In some cases the Xecuter error screen is diagonally split but error code is still visible. Tried original HD and errors still occur, also tested a 120GB WD HDD, no change. Disconnected the Xecuter chip (leaving d0 and ground attached, but not plugged in, and system then goes to 21 error code.

If anyone has any ideas it would be nice. TIA

Ok.. Update. Since I can't sleep letting a simple computer problem bug me.

Swapped in an unlocked Maxtor HD from different box and it comes up perfectly. Goign to try to image IBM on different xbox, if that fails, will image the IBM from the know good unlocked Maxtor.

your getting a clokc error because there is no MS dashboard on the new HD, you can either

1: update the bios on your modchip to one that skips the clock check

or

2: cloning the maxtor to the IBM will work too, since youll be puttin gthe MS dash on the HD

hey this comes late as hell but I must reply cause you went out of your way and offered help lord... you were 100% correct I updated bios to the newest whatever that is now and got out of it thanks for the help.
