When I transfered the games to the hard drive they boot up back to the dashboard screen(mines is evox)

I tried XBMP as they still did not boot from there also. I only had one successful backup working of NBA streets 2 and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2.

Others such as metal gear and freedom fighters do not boot to the game.

what could the problem be? do i need a program to run games?

lordvader129
might be a media check issue, what bios are you using? and what program are you using to back them up to the HD?
SAPHiREX
I use flashFXP to transfer the games. ISOCraxtion-v31(to extract iso of Freedom Fighters because dvd2xbox couldnt copy 2 files) and im using this latest bios x2_4973_v1.1_256k.zip

The Juggler
Yeah, you probably want to update your bios. That one is a little old. It requires that you patch the media checks in your games. The newer bioses (like x4977 and up) will skip the media checks.

bios x2_4973_v1.1_256k.zip

4973 is far from the latest

wow really ohmy.gif
I just downloaded of xbins.

is there a way to flash the bios by transfering the bios.bin file to the hd and then flashing.

can this be done in evox. i see an option but i dont know where to put the stuff and should I make it into 512kb?

The Juggler
It depends on how your system is set up. Is it a TSOP flash, a chip? What version of xbox are you using?....
SAPHiREX
I dont know what TSOP is.
I have v1.1 xbox

I have XBMP running as the default dashboard, because I run clips and pics and I run evox as an application.

I got Xecuter2.4981.rar and it has the following files

4981.06_256k.bin
4981.67_256k.bin
make1mb.bat
X2_4981.nfo
x2_IGR_disabled

which one is for xbox v1.1? and do I have to make it into a 512kb file?

thanks
The Juggler
How is your xbox modded? Do you have a chip? If so, which one? The Xecuter2Pro uses a 1MB bios.

The TSOP is the chip inside your xbox that contains the original M$ bios. Many people just rewrite that chip with a new bios. (it's called flashing the TSOP) on a version 1.1 xbox your TSOP size is also 1MB.

But, if you have some other brand of chip, you have to find out what size bios to use on it.

whatever folder the xbe for evox is in make a folder called Bios, the put 4981.06_256k.bin in it, add the line

Item "Flash Bios",ID_Flash_Bios

to the menu section of evox (unless its there already) then just select that from your menu, select the bios and flash away, evox will resize the 256k to fit whatever chip your using (unless its an xbit, then you need to use the usb programmer)
SAPHiREX
I have the xecuter2 lite chip.

ok so how do I flash. Make a 512k file and transfer to hd(also where in dh? i tried c:/bios and evox did not find it)

which of the two should I use?
4981.06_256k.bin
4981.67_256k.bin
The Juggler
use .06
and evox should look in C:/bios for the new bios. I don't know if that is something you can set in the Evox.ini or not....
SAPHiREX
ok thanks.
I got all the steps.

I have my evox running from e:/ and flashfxp says there is no more room in e:/

226-free disk space under this directory : 0

I have 160GB HD and i still have about 130GB free
SAPHiREX
Ok I tried the 4981.67 bios and YES:) it worked and brought back the folders that disappeared.

Now the thing is.

Its the same the games would not boot from the hard drive.
Its like that same old bios I was using.

I even tried WormS_beta2 that I downloaded from Xbins.
That just went back to the dashboard(Mines is XBMP and I use evox as an app).
