I have had the DVD dongle in my gameport for a year, but it suddenly stopped working. I took the dongle out, and it works in the other 3 ports, but not in #4.
Controllers also do not work in #4.
I opened up the box and swapped the ports one and two, with three and four. Port four is still dead (i.e. it's not the connectors)
Anyone know how to resurrect a dead gameport???

I thought maybe as it was USB I could wire it to one of the other ports somehow and piggyback it?

BUY a new controller port set for 4.99 and if you have a Version 1.0 or 1.1 with a daughterboard that the controllers plug into.. buy a new Daughterboard, but honestly I think the $4.99 REPLACEMENT CONTROLLER PORT WILL DO THE TRICK for you.

I swapped the controller ports around, but it didn't help, (i.e. port 4 was still dead even when I swapped the 1&2 ports with 3&4) so I don't think its the ports themselves.
Where can I buy a daughterboard or ports from anyway?

WWW>LLAMMA.com sells daughterboards.. if you Xbox dont have a daughter board and swapping ports didnt work i don't know what to tell you.. there might be a problem with the recepticle the ports plug into or the bus for the ports might be dead.. (but only worry about that if your Xbox dont have a daugher board).. IF it does try a new one first WWW>LLAMMA>COM

You knocked component L6 off the daughterboard. It is easy to do if you're not careful when pulling up the yellow front panel connector from the motherboard.
