I've tried locking 2 different 120GB disks now, following Opjose's excellent tutorial.

On the first disk, a Maxtor diamondmax 5400 rpm, atapwd reported that the disk didn't fully support the ata command set, that is I only got a - sign under the S.

On the second disk, a WD 7200 rpm 2MB cache, I got a plus sign under the F, meaning the drive arrived frozen from the factory.

I've tried on several pc's, in the range from a PII 233 to a 1,8 P4, different bioses etc. Same results on all.

Anyone else had any experience with locking the mentioned disks?

Use UnlockX instead..It's an "all in one" soft and it works very well...
