are there any protection games that you couldn't make backup or play backup games on the xbox??
if so, list those..

Nope, none that I know of that are protected. I know there are a couple games which are larger than 4.7GB which means they can't be burnt to a DVDR. However, they can still be played from the hard drive (provided you have an upgraded HD in the XBOX). Metal Gear Solid is an example of one of these games.
