It seems that a lot of the LPC modchips wire ground to a screwhole pad (looks like Xecuter2 does this, as well). Why? There is a ground pin on the LPC debug header. What is the advantage of using the screwhole pad?

I spoke with the Xodus Support Team about this. They use the ground at the screw as a backup ground point.

Here's another question: anyone know how Team X-ecuter got around having to solder to the Matrix's infamous "G-spot?" Even the PC-Bioxx requires that at least one non-LPC point be soldered...

Are you sure that they did?

They certainly appear to have... the only connection points are LPC + Ground screw.

No they didn't. If you look at the cable w/ the loop for the ground, there is also a grey wire which needs to be soldered to d0. You still need to ground out the original bios for this to work.
