About a month ago I took out the hard drive in my xbox (80 gb) and installed it in a friends xbox. My xbox sat there for that month and nothing was done to it nor was it touched. 3 days ago I installed a new 120 gb hard drive and now when loading it literally takes a minute for the bios to load and then another minute for mxm to fully load. If i have the stock drive in I don't see this lag at all. The ide cord is messed up, where it connects to the dvd drive the clips broke off and it's connected but not with the force it normally has. I was wondering if anyone knows what the problem may be or how to fix it?

Firstly, you should get a replacement IDE cable. A damaged cable can cause HDs to perform differently.
Is your 120GB making any strange noises during the extended boot time?

No it just makes the noise that it normally makes. When it spools up, it does this a number of times before it fully works.
