Ok, here's my set up. A PC with 10/100 network card connected to an xbox with a crossover cable (?), no hub or switch involved, direct connection.

I've got the matrix installed and have swapped out the HDD for an 80gig alternative.

Now, off I go to the local video store, rent a couple of games and now want to copy them to the HDD for later play. I've heard rumours that it can take ages to copy the files across from PC to xbox.

What's the quickest way for me to get them onto my HDD?

Theres a program called BoxPlorer for the xbox,it can copy games to hard drive.Its not that hard to find,but get the latest version.

About how long does it take to copy a game to HDD using boxplorer? I know it depends on the amount of data on the disc but lets say on average, a rough estimate.

xbcopy is another way to do what you're trying to do. i'm not going to debate which prog is better, i'll leave that up to you.

Not to start a debate, but I like boXeplorer. You can name your directories whatever you want before you copy.

or just use the ProjectX HDD Loader....pretty easy interface just put the game in press some buttons and it does it all for you Xbox DVD->HDD. i dont know actually how it is though cause i dont have an XBOX.
