this is really weird.
i just put my xbox back into its case and it turns on and runs fine. but then i turned it off, turned on my chip, and evox says my CPU is 163 F and rising and my mobo is 85 F and rising

i have no idea how my cpu is 163 when i havent had my xbox turned on in a couple days, and what scares me is that it keeps going up. i finally turned it off when it got over 165.

help blink.gif lol

the m/b is fine at 85, mine usually is around 100, but your cpu is out of the ballpark, are you sure you didn't do anything to it when yu took it out of the case or put in back in??
datz
could it be from something blocking the fan that blows onto the heatsink?
datz
my fan is actually blowing out now... isnt it supposed to be blowing in???
Lugnut
no its supposed to blow out. I thought the xbox shut down at 160???
datz
maybe i never noticed that it blew out b/c its the first time i did the 12 v mod in an xbox case (did it when my xbox was in a pc case.)

im not sure what was wrong but ive been running it for a while with the top off and ive moved some things around so it'll be fine beerchug.gif
Muntzster
mine hit 161 cause i took too much power from the fan whn i installed a light bar and a led fan

but it didnt shut off

maybe only in the ms dash... no maybe not.. maybe its just 170

thats the l;ast thing you wana do man, running the xbox wiv the lid off completely screws the airflow in it, put the lid on and run it, or just turn your xbox off.....

i was just trying to figure out what was wrong, and i was seeing if the temp still went up even with the lid off, which it didnt.

i moved soem stuff around and now the temps steady at a little under 110 F for the cpu
sirsmooth
sorry to jump your post man but i just did the 80mm fan mod and im still getting CPU temps of 58-60 degrees.
Surely it should not be that high. It drops to 53-54 if i crank the speed to max (5) but i dont want to coz its loud, thats why i did the mod sad.gif

60 degrees is above average :/

the fan i have is not brilliant but its good, its still not performing better than the stock fan thou :/

I have it plugged into the MB. im not using a 4 pin molex connector because i wantl to use the speed settings in avalaunch/unleashx.

Anyone else had this prob?

So did you fix the problem or does it still rise up?

Also..That's one hell of an avatar beerchug.gif
