My brother informed me that his Xbox just stopped reading anything except audio CDs. I figured this may be because the laser is going on it, he has a V1.0 with a tompson drive.
He has cleaned the lens but it still won't read games or movie DVDs or backup games.Any suggestions?

So I am guessing from your answer it is the laser? Is that the only option other than getting a new drive?
