I have installed the Matrix Chip.

I have burned an iso for evolution X to a CDRW.

I have swicthed the matrix chip to mode 2

When I boot up the xbox it begins to turn on and the matrix chip lights up green for a second and then the system seems to turn off.

Then the it does it again, and then on third time it actually starts up but my screen is blank and the orange/green light is blinking around the DVD open/close button and it will not eject the CD or do anything else.

If I switch it back to mode 1 it boots up fine into normal xbox mode and the matrix chip blinks green.

What am I doing wrong or what should I do next to install evolution X.

your chip got un aligned ..

the power turning off and on like i think it is 3 times is when the chip is not lined up correctly.

trust me.. maybe it moved when you switched the dip switch.

put it back in test mode and do it again

Sounds like the matrix chip isnt flashed?

you got a bios in the matrix?, or have you just installed it right away when you got it without flashing the chip.

The matrix is delivered without a bios.

I Did flash the chip with WINLPS and a bios file (.bin) I downloaded from #xbins.

Itwas called "Evox v3.6_EjectFix - V1.1.bin" and the everything seemd to go OK

Should I pull the cip out and reflash the bios or can i flash the bios while in xbox?

nope...take it out of the box. Flash and verify to be sure...make sure you got the right bios for your version (ie 2.6 for v1 or 3.6 for v1.1) then reinstall the chip. Also...Don't trust that light. Use a no ani bios or a color bios and check that way. Hope this helps!
