ok, so... it seems that there are many modifications that can be made to my xbox. i am simply looking to copy games on the HDD and to play copied game discs. which modifications should i make to just achieve these goals?
Just go for a MOD chip if you want to copy games onto the HDD. You will also need the applications and other things to do this, but you should be able to buy a software disc that will install it all for you. If you are unsure about modding it yourself then send it off and get it done. I would also recommend getting a much bigger harddrive if you want games on it.

install a solderless modchip (if you are not sure of your soldering capabilities), recommend an X-bit or Xecuter 2.3b lite plus. X-bit is easy to flash and install. You can use Slayers 2.5 autoinstaller to install EvoX dashboard and all your apps, look in the Evolution X forum for help on doing this. Get yourself at least a 160 to 200 gb hard drive, they are not expensive, and you can install the new hard drive using Slayers autoinstaller at the same time as your installing everything else.
