hey, whats all this talk about having to scrape the "d0"? what is that and why do u have to scrape it?

2 reasons:
1) PCB boards are coated with a "rosin" that protects the traces and unused points. The rosin is applied liberally on some xbox mobos, meaning you won't get contact with D0 at all unless you scrape.
2) It makes the point bigger, allowing for a better connection.
I used a small precision phillips screwdriver and just rotated gently. The point was noticeably larger afterwards, and I had zero problems installing xbit pogopin.

it was on mine & mine didn't work till i did that... i had to use an exacto knife and now it works great!

I finally got mine to work a couple of minutes ago. I used two small drill bits and twisted them with my fingers ontop of the holes to clean off the rosin, I was lucky I could find one small enough for D0. Now I'm burning Slayers ISO to try and get that working.

I didn't have to do any scraping when i installed my X-bit, just popped it in and it worked right away so it's probably not on all versions i'd guess
