i have a xbox and i have tons of burned copies of dvd's....
i have no modchip installed or ever was.... and my xbox plays these burned dvd's flawlessy....

ive heard many people cannot get there xbox's to play burned dvd's/burned anything without a modchip... is mine just special or sumthin?
please let me know, im just curios if anyone elses can... and what else it might be able to do....

no yours is not special, plenty of people can play dvd-r, and dvd +r it's cdr's that people can't get to work.
I have a thompson drive and i can play all types of dvd's i just can't play to many different types of cd's thank god i have a dvd burner.

ahh ok, i couldnt figure out why all my buddies xbox's cant play burned dvd's, and only mine could.... none of us have ours modded either....

but my xecuter 2.3b is on the way.... i just cant wait for it to come...
should i flip my mod OFF when i want to play dvd's and stuff...
and only flip it on when i want to play backed up games and other misc stuff??
or just always keep it on to do everything.... ?

really? mine keeps on saying that i need to put in a dvd playback kit if i'm not using the modchip. are you guys using a dvd playback kit?

yeah, you need the dvd kit to play dvds (even backups dvd movies) on an unmodded xbox


on a modded xbox you can use (unsigned) dvdx2 to play dvds (and backup dvd movies) without the playback kit
