Menu file exerpt:

<Item>
<Title>Some Game</Title>
<Description>some game Desc</Description>
<Directory>F:\Games\some_game\</Directory>
<exe>default</exe>
</Item>

Skin file exerpt:

<Resource Type=Image Name="Previewvid">
<MenuBaseName>MXM_SS</MenuBaseName>
</Resource>

In "f:\games\some_game\" I have a file named:

MXM_SS.png

Now when I select Some Game the MXM_SS.png does not load.
Does it need to be a .jpg or do I need to add a menu item? What?

Try <EntryNamed>Thumb</EntryNamed>

Thanks geniusalz, but I use that and it works great... I was trying to deviate from that to make menu editing faster. You need the media files on the xbox anyway. I figured you might as well put them in each game folder.

I got it to work first try using:

<EntryBaseName>MXM_SS</EntryBaseName>

Can some someone Xplain the diff between *entry* and *menu* ?

Menu relates to the current menu... i.e. if the menu has an icon, when you go into the menu, you can still access the icon. An example might be the Games menu... when you go INTO the games menu, there are many ENTRY items there... only the one highlighted relates to the ENTRY* set of names, but no matter what is currently highlighted, the MENU* set of names remain related to the GAMES menu.

Confusing, ain't it? rolleyes.gif It was intended on giving skin designers maximum flexibility in setting up images.
