Full Version: Xos Disk Tools(copy And Smart Drive Updgrade)
Is VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY slow, i did a test with a file of 216mb it took 460 seconds to copy the file to the another hd,so the tranfer speed is around 470kbytes/s that's a shame for a tranfer that should be more faster than FTP,at least 7mpbs should be fine but 470kbytes/s? Well if you read the boards and their forums
You'd know this is due to limitations of the Cromwell bios and from what I've read... they are working on it
The SmartXX will be just the same if not slower
Maybe people don't have FTP!
Besides when can you use FTP to setup a new drive for an xbox... you'd have to format it first and there in lies a problem getting it connected
PS I don't know what you mean if I normally upload anything via FTP I think I only get around 47kbytes/s so this is 10x faster atleast and then I have to upload it first to the PC so theres one hell of a lot of time saved

You sure as hell don't get that speed uploading
Unless you use ava and quix in which case it's bloody dificult for any noob to upload a new drive to the xbox
I get 10mpbs xbox/pc and pc/xbox but that's because i have a bigger hd 7200rpm that increase a lot the speed,when i ftp with my original xbox hd i got around 6500kbps pc/xbox and 7500kbps xbox/pc

All I know is me Uploading anything (not using quix) via ftp 100megs + can take hours and all I have is a crossover cable and a 10/100 base parallel tasking - that's why 3com were always da bomb baby - (not that it means much in this case though) full duplex network card
Oh and it's optimised for throughput

i get 8 megs a second through a lan card and 500 kilobytes a sec through a usb adapter. thats just using flashfxp and not running any other special software.
yeah man..... I get the full 10000kb/s using regular old flashfxp or qwix.... you must have a lame xbox lol...... what version is yours? I have a v1.0
