add flashx to yor apps on xbox....

If you have cromwell on bank 2, just load up bank 2.. flash.. and that will overwrite the bank 1 bios. And you'll be all set.
or just ftp the bios to your bios folder in evox and flash

flash?? if you use evox flash, that would flash entire chip.
it would be safe to keep cromwell. for a while smile.gif

4980 is not the newest. it's buggy and has been pulled. use 4981

get the 4981, turn it to a 512k iso. load into your cromwell bios, and when it says load cd, put in the 512k cd with the 4981 bios.

your chip can hold 1mb on 2 banks. if you use a 512k, it will put it on bank 1, and allow you to keep cromwell.

good luck

ok just makin sure i have my chip switch at the right place...

First off theres 3 switch : enable\disable , protected\unprotected , bank1\bank2

Now since the cromwells on bank2 , i set the switch to --> enable\unprotected\bank2 and power up the xbox is that correct ?

ANd when i extract the content of Xecuter2.4981.rar i got:

- 4981.06_256k.bin (256kb)
- 4981.67_256k.bin (256kb)
- make1mb.bat
- X2_4981.nfo
- x2_IGR_disabled

its just 256kb how do i make it 512kb iso.?
and what to do with - x2_IGR_disabled ?
alright that seem alot a question..i just wanna make sure everythings ok.
thx for all the help so far beerchug.gif

Use X2BM, a program you can download from the usual places...

Using that software you just import the 256k bios, copy it, paste it, and save it.
It will now be a 512k.

Thats about it, now youve got a nice bios for your chip.

make a folder and put that .bin file and a dummie file (min100mb) named abc.dat and burn it to a cd-rw. flash it to the bank that doesn`t have cromwell, because you wanna keep that. or ftp it to your xbox on folder called "bios", run flashx select banks and voila.

you need to read this
!. you have cromwell on your chip, either in bank2 or in both i`m, not sure.
so when your dip switch is set to bank 1or 2 this means that, when you have cromwell on your screen and bios in your drive and flash, you flash the bank tht the dip switch is set to. so if you make a 512 kb bios you will flash only that bank your switch is set to. if you make a 1024 kb bios you WILL flash both banks(1 and2) and also erase the existing cromwell.
i`m not sure of this but, find out i you have cromwell on both banks, try boot to both bank, most likely you have cromwell on both banks.

no, of course. that is if you have a new and unflashed chip rolleyes.gif
what you have to do is add flashx to your xbox. from there you can chose which bank you want to use.
if you use evox to reflash bios, you WILL flash entire chip even if you use a 512 bios.

you can, but you will only be able to flash bank 2 where your cromwell is or flash entire chip with a 1024bios from bank 2 with cromwell
