Sup guys, I'm a pretty noobish right now when it comes to this xbox modding so go easy on me wink.gif . Basicly, I have the old version xbox, 1.0, or whatever it's called but I don't think that matters. Anyway, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to put onto the disk I use to boot up EvoX. Since the chip I want already comes flashed will the only thing I need to download is Evox and whatever apps I want to have like Xbox Media Center. I got confused about other files like Slayers and stuff. I tried looking through tutorials but it gets confusing because of the different chips. So can some one maybe give me a list of what exactly I need, also I downloaded Craxtion to turn the files into .iso for the xbox but do I need to do any other renaming? I have a few other questions but I'll try taking this one step at a time so I don't get anymore confused. uhh.gif Help please?

Ok, you really need to go one step at a time. Your chip comes preflashed with cromwells flash bios...which is a program that lets you flash the chip...so unless you bought this from someone that put a bios on there for you, you are going to have to flash the chiop with another bios.

Oh ok, what should I download for that then?

Download a newer bios like Xecuter 4979 or 4981 from the "usual places". Then follow the instuctions and flash your chip with the new bios. Basically, the bios allows you to run unsigned code on the Xbox, so it is needed to be able to run the Evox Cd. I suggest you try using Memorex CD-RW too since u have a 1.0 version. Hope this helps. biggrin.gif

How do I flash it? Do I just use an ethernet cord to transfer the file from my computer to the chip, or do I put it on the disk with EvoX? Jeez, this may be too hard for me to do, I have no clue how to do this stuff. unsure.gif

Ok, I downloaded Xecuter2.4981, just to make sure I have the right thing, inside the folder it has: 4981.06_256k.bin, 4981.67_256k.bin, make1mb.bat, X2_4981.nfo, x2_IGR_disabled. Now, I'll also need EvoX so I downloaded EvolutionX Build 3935, inside that folder is has stuff like: A BIOS, Skins, Trainers folder, Trainers Source.zip, EvolutionX Build 3935.nfo, evoxdash.xbe, evox.ini, and a couple .txt files. And also xmc folder (Xbox Media Center) and it has some more files in that, too lazy to type those out. Well anyway, what do I have to do the the files before puting them onto the disk? Any name changing or anything? Also, is there anything else I need to get? dry.gif I wonder if I'm making this harder than it realy is.

Ok, I looked at the picture in one of the tutorials on what files should be in the EvoX folder and I copyed it, In it I put:

Bios Folder
language Folder
media Folder
mplayer Folder
skin Folder
visualisations Folder
evox.ini
keymapping.txt
msxdash.xbe
skinning.txt
default.xbe

Some of those folders I just added to make the file larger, I don't think I really need them, I had two default.xbe files, one from my EvoX folder, and one from my xbmc folder. So I didn't know what I was supposed to do there so I changed the Evox file to msxdash.xbe and used both so hopefully one of them will work. I think the only question I have left is do I need to change any of the files to .iso, or rename any of them something else? Also what should the size of this folder be around? Mines around 16.5mb, don't know if that's good or not.
