Ive seen all sorts of tutorials mentioning Xbox and its hdd partitions(C,D,E,F,X,Y,Z) but does anyone want to explain the existence of a G partition. I have a Xbox v1.0 and I bought it used. I noticed the thing had been opened before when I first opened it to install a mod chip so is it possible someone formatted the hdd with an extra partition!?! The G dosnt have any memory capacity in it. Here is a picture of my screen when FlashFXP is running.

G is used with certain bioses and hard drives over 137 gigs

you can set it up where all of your free space up to 137 gigs goes into the F drive and the leftovers go into the G drive.....

this is only useful if you have 250Gigs and more b/c the xbox cannot be defragmented and it takes a while to scan through 250 gigs of data to find certain files... this leads to problems

so people make a G drive to make it less space for the xbox to sort through therefor causing less headache. happy.gif
