Ninja Gaiden was working just fine for the last few days ( I have about 10 hours into it). Deleted the cache but it still locks up sad.gif

My CPU is running at 107 F, is that normal? My mobo is at ~120 F.

Any help here would be much appreciated!

Crap! I didn't mean to post 2 topics about this, sorry sad.gif

My mobo seems to be peaking around 130 F. Isn't this a tad hot? Somebody please help! At least point me to some place where I can find people who might know/want to help.

you sure you are reading the MB and CPU temps right?

if indeed your mobo is 130 degrees I'd say you got a cooling issue or a bad mobo which has the Vcore voltage for the chipset set too high... just my guess.

Let me add that I have a Matrix mod chip on a v1.1 Xbox. I'm using a 120GB Western Digital HDD.

I'm using Evox and I have all my IGRs turned off. It seems like the random locking up occured imeediatly after I accidentially hit the "Master Ninja Tournament" option in Ninja Gaiden. It tried to update my MS dash so I turned it off half way through. Could this have messed something up? Any info here would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the reply.

"you sure you are reading the MB and CPU temps right? "

Yes. It clearly reaches 130 F (not celcius, but it's still hotter than it should be, right?)

"if indeed your mobo is 130 degrees I'd say you got a cooling issue or a bad mobo which has the Vcore voltage for the chipset set too high... just my guess."

What would you recommend doing to fix this problem?

The odd thing is this:

The longer the Xbox is on, the less chance it has of locking up, ie, if it's only been on 15-30 minutes, it's more likely to lock up. If it's been on ~60 min, it probably wont. Over 60 minutes and I'm pretty golden. None of these times are scientific, but it just seems like the longer its on, the better it will perform (less likely to lock up)

I left it on overnight (so that I could play Ninja Gaiden without locking up) and so far, no lockups. It's running at 134 degrees F now :/

I can feel warm air coming out the back vents. Not hot, heater air, but it's slighly warm.

I'm using a solderless Matrix mod, if that helps anything.
