mmm...this is already a confirmed feature of final, so what's up with the poll?
don't you like the idea??
I suppose its not everyone's cup of tea, but I'm sure once you see it in action, you'll love it! Nice and handy for people with more than one xbox user, and people that want different settings for different circumstances.*
* (eg - you want to ftp, so on one bunch of settings, you're music button is replaced by a link to an ftp client/server, on your normal user, thats still music)

USER MANAGER Now, you'll be able to log in with specific settings attributed to your user all WINDOWS XP style. When you boot up your xbox you'll be faced with something like the image below, allowing you to boot from specified accounts and their prefferences. Nothing like this has been tried or achieved on an xbox dashboard to date. This is innovitave and original. CONCEPT. PROBABLY NOT FOR USE IN FINAL VERSION |
sorry about the poll but as far as the website says its just a concept idea

As far as I know. the only person actively working on the dash is Jbone, and at this point, I seriously doubt he could give a rat's ass what a poll says. It's one thing to be working on a project and then ask for suggestions, but to offer them to someone who never asked for them is kind of lame.

Well Bob before you go and start

people maybe you should look deeper then whats on the surface.. The whole point of the poll was to hopefully help get support for this feature. As the webpage states it is a "Concept idea" and will probably not be in the final version, I was trying to raise enough votes from people to show the awsome people at xboxdash that this feature is highly wanted by xbox users like myself,
thanks and have a wonderful day

Digital- sorry if i didnt make it patiularly clear in that preview, but what I was referring to as a concept was the screen below that, with the usermanager in action.
BOB- gcue is also working on the dash. He also worked on the bios, but unfortunatly fecked up his xbox in doing so. he's definetly active, its not just J.
PS - flaming is lame bob.

I just hope there is a simple way to disable it all the way (if it is implemented). Otherwise it would be quite annoying to log into my 1-user Xbox.

What ever JBone decides is what I want! That guy has some ideas. Almost like he sits up at night and thinks "how can i make everyone in the scene nut in their pants a little more" LOL.
*btw Jbone, that will be on its way in a few days. Sorry bout the delay!

Why you forget Gcue? He does a hell of a lot of work on tHc too!

Yes, Gcue, Fuckdb, Voltaic, Jbone and lots of others behind the scenes if I understand right.

I'd really like to know what he did on the bios ???
and the only reason he's active now is because I'm not - i tried getting him to work on the dash - he had no interest until the show was all his. Now it is. and i'd really still like to know what he did on the bios ??? or the dash for that matter ??? anything shown so far as the new dash was all my work - which means that if there is going to be a tHc release soon that he has ALOT of writing to do (seeing as how i rewrote that dash from scratch), because my work will be released by me when it's done - not sooner and not by any one else.

Glad to see you're still working on it Jb. I can't wait for your new release. I could care less if the new dash is called thc final, what's in a name anyway? On topic, I'd say that the user manager is a cool feature, but should be able to be disabled for single-user xboxes. Also, it shouldn't look like the preview that was shown awhile back (I know that was basically just a proof-of-concept) because it didn't match the dash at all.

So let me get this straight.
You guys (JbOnE, Gcue, etc) aren't working on the THC FINAL together???
Is the THC LITE Gcue's project?

No I would have no use for it.
keep up the good work , im really enjoying the latest THC DASH , the only thing that bugs me is the FTP , wouldnt it be possible to take some code from the XDK dash and add it to the THC DASH so it can have FTP? or am i dreaming?

Sounds like a good idea. A good use I see for it is to lock out the youngins from the games you don't want then playing. Have a default profile for the kiddies; and a pappa smurf profile for playing GTA!!!

Sounds cool to me, as long as its disable-able for the lonely

Well for those who said no.. too bad suckas!!
I got it up and running earlier today. And it doesn't interfear with one person using the dash. In fact, if you're like me and want as main tabs as possible this is the best thing that could ever happen.
Think of it like this.. on a button press the skin, menu setup, and network data could be changed to something preconfigured.
So say you do a lot of xbox to xbox transfers, you could have user four set up to a different static IP then your network so if you take it to your freinds it hooks up easy.

Countless options really!
