Hi, this probably sounds like a stupid question, be kind.. i'm a total noob.

I wanted to confirm if this is the order of events that need to be completed to install a modchip and get it up and running.

1 - Physical chip install (soldering, switch, etc)
2 - Flash BIOS with CDRW/DVD (Xecuter2, etc)
3 - Install dashboard onto the HDD. (via CDRW or ftp?)...this step i'm not sure whether it needs to be ftp'd or installed from a CD blink.gif
4 - FTP contents of HDD into a folder on a PC.
5 - Disconnect HDD and install larger HDD.
6 - ftp contents of folder on the pc to the larger HDD.

DONE!

Is this correct? Any tips or pointers would be great.

looks pretty good to me. just a few suggestions though. for installing the dashboard check out x-disk auto installer. it will save you a lot of time and has options to install all the dashboards and apps. if you are putting in a larger HD i would unlock your original drive first. this way you can re-sell it or stick it in a pc or whatever. then remove the drive and put your new one in. these are just opinions and you don't have to do what i say. good luck modding!
