i need a 12 ohm resistor, but i only have a 10 and a 2. i just got back from the radioshack and i dont want to go all the way back out there just to get this. so i want to solder these 2 togethor and then solder them to the leds. is this possible or do i have to waste precious gas to get that 1 resistor

yes. hook them up in series (one end of one connected to an end of the other) and it'll total 12 ohms.

ha thats funny this reminds me of my hdd activity mod i ran 10! 100 ohm resistors together to get the 1k resistor needed then a bit of wire solder all together and put inside of some heat shrink tubing and thrown under neath the mother board
Its the eject hdd activity mod

glad this will work, and 1 more question. im doin that jewel lightup mod and i am stupid. i hot glued the wire on the ground too early and did not add the ground wire itself. Can i solder this to a leg of one of the leds and have it still work?
