i have never under stod what exactly changing the eeprom means... i know what it is and i know how to cage it (whit a program). but why? what can b solved by doing that? and why do people risk fucking thear xboxes fore it?

i wouldn't consider this a development question, but the main reason for switching your eeprom is if you get banned from live, you can put an unbanned eeprom on your box and go on live again.

to the best of my knowledge the eeprom stores your xbox's serial and all kinds of unique information like that, so if for some reason you get banned from xbox live (most likely reason being going on with the chip on) they ban you by your eeprom, this is why if you flash your eeprom to a new one, or get a new xbox you can go on live still.
