I stumbled upon this program after beating NG the first time. I just used it to give myself the Plasma Sword MKII, the Dark Dragon Blade, and several Life and Ki upgrades before tackling the game again on Very Hard mode. I figured I'd play it kinda like Diablo--start over on a harder difficulty, but with a more bad-ass Ryu.

So far I'm liking it just as much as I did the first time I went through, if not more. This is the first xbox game I've picked up and played again immediately after finishing the first time. It's amazing.

Anyway, I found the program here. A huge thanks to Pixel K for making it, and sharing it with us.

To use it, you gotta have the latest Evox dash, with TSR enabled. Then enter NG and load a game (or start a new one). From there, start up the program, connect to your box, and edit away! Just make sure that when you're adding items, you make sure the quantity is at least set to 1, and that the box is checked before clicking on "Write." Enjoy!

VERY nice

I'm not sure what TSR stands for, but it's an option in the latest Evox dash. Basically, it allows you to run Ninja Gaiden while keeping Evox in the background. It's mainly for debugging and stuff so you can check what's going on in real time. In this case, it allows you to connect to the box while playing NG.

this is an good app but i cant delete the tablet of water because the editor cant see it for some reason damn that trainer. i might have to start over the whole game

coupe of things

1st DO NOT USE THE EVO TRAINER DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT really sorry for the caps but you will get stuck in the pyramid(chap 13 i think) if your using the inf items trainer because you need to put down some tablet but you cant because you have and infinte amount of them

2nd. DO NOT GIVE YOUR SELF MAX LIFE OF THE THOUSAND GODS because you will also get stuck after fighting the eyeball tree thing the second time, after its dead you need to pick up the life of the thousand gods to leave the room,,if your maxxed out you will have to start over like i did.

this editor FRikkkin rocks, and for whoever asked for a tut..heres mine.

1enable Debug tsr in the sys setting
2load a save or start a new game
3once game is loaded open up the editor and set ip addy.
4click connect,then read,if along list comes up proceed to step 5, if not reset everything and try again
5 example Say you just started the game on very hard and want the true dragon sword, go to the first spot that says empty.
click the check box
then click where it says empty, click the drop down menu and find the melee-dark dragon or whatever. click it,make the amount 1
click add then click write.
uncheck the box
do exactly that for evreything you need
once done,save the game,back out
and disable TSR and go back and enjoy the game.

you only need 10spirit of the devels so dont max out
give yourself all50 scarabs but not the dibahrilo,trust me youll get it later

This is actually in reference to the point's about using the trainer, I love this editor, but if you turn off the trainer, complete the easy puzzle and save it again.

Leave the game, enable the trainer and start again, you'll be fine.

You know the level 13 problem created by the evo-x trainer? would it be possible to remove the tablet with this program so you can continue?

for me it wont connect at all and when i press connect it gives me Unable to connect. Error #10038 in the log file

I get exactly the same error message, tried restarting the pc & xbox to no avail

i got that error from forgetting to set the tsr in evox to debug. I then restarted the Xbox, and it connected easily. I started a new game since I did not beat it yet. I didn't want to cheat like that on my main file. its fun to mess with. Between me editing SC:PT yesterday, and this today, my list of reasons to mod keeps growing.

Still not working for me, do i need to run the game of the HDD instead of CD ?

Fegg, i am not sure what files the editor changes. It may edit files in the cache. If so then a cd will be fine. If it is other files, then it would have to be on a hdd.

If you have a stock hdd, and the editor needs the game to be on it, ii thought of this for you:

Unless you are loaded with apps, your stock hdd should still have enough room on its F partition to fit the game. Put it on there. Load up the editor and decide what you want to edit, a new game or an existing file. To the editing and make sure you have it exactly as you want it. If you think you may want to start a new game with all weapons for later, make a new game give all items you want, and save it in the first spot you can on level 1. After all that, you can delete the game form your hdd because the save data will already have those items in your inventory.

I think that will be the best way. Since you get the error with the debug BIOS on, I am not sure of the problem. You do have evox's IGR set to ON right? Evox trainers and this app in turn will need it on.

IGR is on, i tried setting the xbox to ntsc instead of pal ( just in case ) still no joy. My F partition always reads as zero, i could fit it on the E partition, but i'd have to remove a load of emu's etc...

Think i'll just admit defeat on this one, thanks for the help though.

I understand if you don't want to delete the stuff, but you could just transfer them all over to your computer in like 10 minutes. I just don't know if its worth it. The editor is cool, but I am just using it to mess around and test things. I made the start button stop working in one game some time. Other weird stuff too, lol.

Anyway fegg since I upgraded my hdd last year, I have reccomended it to others. i do now more than others. More and more games are being "hacked" these days. Games with PC counter-parts are great to run mods or just edit some INIs. I fully admit that I don't actually do much. I just build off of other people's tries. It is still fun though. To date, with the help of the people on here, I have messed with

GTA VC, PGR 2, Morrowind GoTY, Splinter Cell PT, NG and one or 2 others. I was going to mess with Simpson's Hit and Run too, but I never got to it. Now granted, most of these games can be opied to your computer, edited, then burned. The thing is, you need to use RW discs or buy a lot of regualrs, or be VERY careful of what you do. Haveing the game on the Xbox is so much easier. When I edit files, if I made a mistake, i can have a new copy of the file in the Xbox and the game running within 10 minutes.

I just think this stuff just brings the Xbox up a notch. I mean it is another thing that shows the benefit of modding.

is this a new gaiden version or what ?

Drpiety tell me what you did step by step. This program is still a little buggy. There are ways to avoid bugs. So maybe I can see what exactly happened.

I went into evox 3795 (not sure but its the latest) switched on the debug, restarted the box, started Gaiden loaded a savegame went to the computer and lauched the editor connected to the box without problems read without problems but there were no items shown up just a list of 0 item. Then if i try to open the dropdoen box it says not editable. tell me if you need more information...

the editor doesn't edit files at all. It injects bytes directly into memory. I don't think it would work from a DVD because the xbe has to be run in debug mode, meaning it would have to be executed from Evox.

Alright, I'm using slayers 2.5 and when I goto system management and then system settings, I get the network settings. Is there a button I need to press to get to another system settings menu to enable tsr? Please help me.

I can't get past 'Dump asked'

It doesn't work on an actual save file. It changes the values in memory when a game is in session. So you need to actually load a game, and be up and running before altering any values.

once you start a new game, or load a save file, you are good to go. I have only had a few problems so far. One was it wasn't working after i set TSR to debug. I forgot to reboot after I did tht. SO I rebooted after it didn't work. After the reboot it was fine. Another time the TSR was set correctly, and so was my IP. It just wouldn't do anything. So I rebooted the Xbox and it was fine again.

I noticed other little things. Like if i didn't hit the disconnect button while playing, the game would suffer major slow down. So just exiting the program, or disconnecting from the main menu, is not good. It annoyed me many times. Trying to re-connect after exiting doesn't work for me. If I wanted to edit something else, I have to reboot the Xbox.

Another thing is using this with a trainer with infinite items on. I had given my self maximum number of items, then it got to a point in the game where I had to buy something from the shop keeper. I had already disconnected from the editor. So I had to reboot my Xbox. In the end of chapter 12 something similar happened. After defeating a boss, I had to pick up a Lives of a thousand whatever for a door to open. Again I had disconnected already, so i had to reboot and fight th boss again.

So my advice for those of you who get the editor working and use a trainer is; never give yourself the maximum number of items, and stay connected with the editor until you are done playing.

I still don't know why some people can't get it to work. maybe it is a firewall problem or a router blocking it from working. I don't if that is correct though because I don't know if the editor is connecting through FTP or telnet. If FTP, and you FTP with other apps, then its not the problem. If the editor uses telnet like I think it does, then something could be blocking it. I am not real good with networking though.

When I use the editor this is what i do:
- Turn the TSR to "debug" in evox. (i turn this to "normal" othertimes because it interferes with Avalaunch's networking)
- Start NG from my HDD.
- Load a game or start a new one.
- Open the editor and set the IP
- Hit connect.
- Hit "read"
- Then start adding or subtracting items in the list. Like if I had an empty spot, I'd put something new in it, set the number I want of the item, hit "update". If all my spots are filled, i go to a spot that has an item I don't care about. I set the number to 0 and hit update. then use that spot and pick something from the drop down box, set the number, hit update.
- When all done, i hit "write". Then check my in-game inventory.

I hope that helps anyone who may be just doing something little incorrectly. My steps can be changed a little, it is all up to you.

I like this program and all, but after a little while instead of a green light at the bottom of the program I get a red light. It also tends to lag the game a little bit if you load the game after you have turned the box off. Anyone lese having problems like these? If not could someone post some possible solutions to this? I also get a message that says "dump asked", anyone know what this means? Thanx for the help.

i keep getting this message every time I try to load it: "connect: WSocketResolvePronto: Cannot convert protocol 'tcp', Error #11004"

I put all 3 into my inventory, then went to the bar. I only tried NG 1, but it worked for me. Maybe try another slot for them to be in. If that fails, take them all out, give yourself 50 scarabs, go to trade them to the shop keeper, and you get all the prizes, including NG 1. Go see if that works for you. Then add NG 2 and 3 back in and try them. I don't know why this happened for you, but sometimes just changing the way you enter data into a program can make all the difference.

can I change these files on my PC then burn to a DVD-R?

I've got this app long time ago, but i've notice some problems also.
This app works fine with EVOX 3921, from this version an on it will cause problems, for what i could verify is that the adresses changes (offset), that's why moust of the time the games slows down or the apps returns Unknow, and everytime you hit reload, more unknow shows up.

I'm using EVOX 3935 and have this TSR problems when it's turned on, games slowes down when you start to do some search or editing. Also, with TSR on Ninja Gaiden becomes a JAP version with warning and everithing in Japanese, if TSR turned OFF games become ENG again (COOL )

Maybe because I have a 1.0 JAP Xbox version.

So, that's It, use EVOX 3921 to apply modifications in Ninja Gaiden.

do youguyd know if this app works on PAL versions?caus i can't get it to i dont know if i can read it prop caus wen i press connect i get a list with a few emptys and the rest unkown but no items or weapons and when i add items it don't change anything

Yea I am a PAL user and tried a few times. The only thing that EVER changed was the frame rate of the game. It lagged like fuck when I would edit a game save..... There should be a way to get it to work for PAL im sure of it.
