Hi when playing unreal or splinter cell, my widescreen tv keeps switching between 4:3 and 16:9 constantly. All over games fine (mix of 4:3 games and 16:9)
Any ideas??
I have a standard sony widescreen tv, conected via advanced scart cable, rgb and svideo tested with same results.
Any info would be appreciated!

Is it set to Widescreen in the MS Dashboard?

It is yes. GT2000, nightfire etc all work fine in 16:9, and they switch between 4:3 and 16:9 as and when they should without any issues.
just the two in first post switching when they shouldn't! as you can imagine, its very annoying!

is your tv set to auto for the screen? Mine switches if left in auto mode but is fine in full widescreen.

If I manually switch to wide or 4:3 its not as bad, but will still switch after a while. Also they seem to pause for a split second making the game play crap and audio jumpy! any ideas? (mainly on unreal)

Does your TV support WSS? If so, toggle the setting to the opposite of what you have now. Might help.

so whats WSS? Its an early Sony. Audio doesn't jump but glitches (better description!) not sure if its where the tv is trying to switch (although the picture size doesn't change all the time when 'glitching')......
Going to set xbox to normal screen and see what it does.
