4977 bios ?

Do they support g partition ?
Trevante
You need to update your bios....

It sounds to me, that you flashed with 4977 which doesn't support a G drive (unless you edit it to), but you formatted a G drive. If what I said is true, then you have no space in your G drive, and your F drive is already taking up the 26gb your G drive should have. You could reflash your chip then reformat F and G, but then you would lose your data, so just don't bother with it. Your other option is to upgrade your HDD.

welll i formatted my G, and i can upload to it, now the NEW problem is
i cant see the file i uploaded on my xbox, when i FTP to my box i see them, but like the movies i put on my G drive they dont show..

what can i do? would bios fix this problem?
Trevante
They don't show in what programs? It seems like you haven't edited the programs' configuration files to recognize files on the files on the G drive. What ever program(s) you're using, look for its configuration file and make sure it's set to recognize the G drive.

i did this

QUOTE
up FlashFXP send a raw command to the Xbox.

Type this exactly, including spaces and capitals.

Formatpath \Device\Harddisk0\Partition7

It will give you a hex key (8 characters)

Then type..

FormatDrive key

I had to do this even after I used an Evox HDD install CD!

then i was able to back up stuff to my G, but the movies games and apps, that i backed up wont run... why dosnt it work?

btw, i looked in xcommander and my G drive dosnt show, i updated my bios with layers auto disc, i flashed with this ' Flash 256k MOD or 1.2-1.5 TSOP w/X2 4977 +137 G:\' what am i doing wrong?

By default, XBMC doesn't use the G drive, nor does it look for files on the G drive if you do set it to use the G drive. FTP into your Xbox and copy the xboxmediacenter.xml and edit it with notepad. You need to change

<useGDrive>no</useGDrive> to <useGDrive>yes</useGDrive>

and you need to add

CODE
- <bookmark>
 <name>G Drive</name>
 <path>G:\</path>
 </bookmark>

Under the video section.
