I don't know why but my FTP connection keeps getting lost. WinXP keeps popping up and saying connection lost. FlashFXP keeps trying to open a certain port (something like 192,168,0,3,116) and loses its connection. I have to either wait for the connection to fail in FlashFXP or abort transfer and reconnect. I am using two NIC's and I have a crossover cable(obviously). Is there a setting I'm missing?

Maybe. But if you get a connection at first i doubt it. Have any firewall running?

I get a connection 95% of the time. Its just that while I'm transferring I'll lose it and have to wait to reconnect or do it manually. I don't have a firewall program or anything. Just a NIC solely for my Xbox. Have you heard of this before?

Heard of it, yes. Don't know of any solid fix though. make sure your cable(s) isn't flaky at all. Do you have PASV on? Make sure it is off. maybe post your ftp log next time it happens.

sounds like a software firewall problem to me. I have Sygate Personal Firewall and when i don't change the setting to "Allow All" from "Normal" i have connectivity problems

Thanks for the responses. I don't have Passive on but what is wierd is when I FTP'ed a game from my xbox to my PC, it went without problem but when I put ROM's on it the connection keeps getting lost. I don't know. It's not a horrible problem but just really annoying.
