Im installing the chip now, but don't have a fibre glass pen.

How far away from the Do point, have i to expose the metal tracks for it to work.

Also is this essential or would my chip work without exposing the tracks.

Apparantly its not essential, you can use a knife to scrape it gently if you wish but i use a fibreglass pen to prep the d0. I think youll be ok try it first without scraping, if no contact then scrape very gently. GL

I didnt scrape at all (although I am sure it can help). Either way, scrape or no scrape, I think you will increase your luck if you use a little flux.
