Is that "just" a piece of plexi to put on top of the Xbox?

i dont think so. I think the bottom part is plexi. And it looks like a perfect fit. i know i cant cut plexi like that, or attach it together if my life depended on it. And that top piece looks like aluminum. I probably would have bid if it didnt already have bids, because im sure the price will go up!

Looks kinda lame to me. Looks like a peice of metal that just sits on top of the system. I could plazma cut something better then that with my eyes closed.

Grab a backpack and go to any college or high school and go hack it up. They let me use their stuff and I dont go to college and I graduated 3 years ago from highschool.

No others sold as yet anywhere in the world. These are pre-release finished prototypes for final versions that have not yet been released, or may never be released. This item is not a cheap stick on, it is made from high quality perspect and fine aluminum.
Be the first to own one of the very few made. This model is the "Blue Flame" version which consists of the high grade perspect lid which fits perfectly in place of the old lid. Full instructions of fitting are included, which are both very easy to read and do. This case mod is ideal for those who would like to add light to their XBOX, as the case is clear BLUE perspect, LED (or other forms of light) can be added under the unit to give a brilliant vision that can not be matched. The winning bidder will also recieve all connections and bolt-pins, plus the Aluminum "X" which can also be fitted, with the LAZER etched flame design. Thank you for looking and good luck on your bidding. |
What the fuck's "perspect" anyway?
You'd think someone who's using that much perspex would know how to spell it! And if he's LASER etching, he ought to be able to spell that as well.

haha...we should do this more often: pick random ebay auctions, and then make fun of the seller!

i think the case is aluminuim and the top skin thing is perspex.
looks kinda ugly to be with the extra perspex at the back of the X
nice pattern though.
looks like it went for $30.
not to bad.

that's a kinda cool looking ebay item.
I thought of doing a mod very similar to this (without the alluminum looking thing on top)
Not too bad for $30 but I could probably make my own for $15

maybe I'm missing something. it looks like he just cut off the top of a standard xbox-case lid and replaced it with solid thick sheet of plexi glass. then used the standard xbox lid sides and back.
The decoration piece (which I don't really care for and would do without) is made of something else (not metal)
I'd gladly pay $30 for this (not much more) but all it seems to be is a piece of plexiglass cut to a pattern with sides glued on. Shouldn't be THAT complicated with the right tools and a little time.

The large flat piece seems to be a sheet of like 1/8 inch aluminum. It looks die-cut, but I don't know where you'd get tooling for that. The white sheet that sits above the Xbox doesn't even properly fit with the contours of the Xbox. Everything is misaligned and just off in general.
It's a cool concept, but I wouldn't pay 5 dollars for that, let alone 30 dollars plus shipping.
